Recently COMFORT FOOD has had the privilege of being written up in the news! Taste of Home magazine did a whole page article about us in their August/September issue. Then Organic Examiner and Restaurants and Institutions both reported on us. The links to all three stories are below. Besides these, a local college student did a class project and created a 5 minute documentary on COMFORT FOOD. We are thankful for all this press and media attention. Have a look and let me know what you think about what they wrote.

The winner was a quote by Mother Teresa that goes like this: We cannot all do great things, but we can all do small things with great love.
Its’ great isn’t it?! Sara, the contributer, wrote this, after learning she won. “I just got out of session with a client and saw this email – I am SO excited that I won and SHOCKED! Thank you so much for considering me, I can’t wait to use my free meal for two. In all honesty, your philosophy and approach to healthy eating has been an inspiration to my effort to get healthy and fit. Also, I love that you are so involved in foster care, a cause that needs dedicated, interested and devoted people to champion improvements in how we help youth in need. (I am a children’s therapist at Good Sam and work with many foster children). I will be by the cafe tomorrow to retrieve my prizes.
p.s. I have a plaque of the quote I submitted in my office to remind me every day about the impact we can have for good.

We have only 3 days left of the Puyallup Fair here in downtown Puyallup. I know lots of people who are going to enjoy a return to a more peaceful atmosphere downtown. Others, like my husband, love the fair so much, that he has been 9 times so far and will be sad to see it go.
For me, I prefer the peace, but really enjoyed the art exhibit once again, the baby pigs as usual and two first time events for me – being apart of the Mainstreet Booth and attending the Mainstreet Assoc. Business Spotlight Event in the executive tent at the fair. The event was last night and the food, fun and fellowship were wonderful.
And so in three days we won’t be making our sugar cookies anymore till the next holiday or event comes around. But till then, if you are brave and willing to deal with fair traffic, you can come by and purchase our yummy organic sugar cookies with cream cheese frosting in cow, sheep, pig and chicken shapes. To quote Meyer’s Hamburgers about their onion burgers, get ‘em, get ‘em, get ‘em!
