INSPECTION passed and opening DATE!

Last Friday, October 19th, CF PASSED it’s county health inspection….YAHOO! What a relief and FIRST TIME too! So you probably think I am gonna say ‘we open next week’ or something like that. SORRY, but we have made a decision to delay our opening because my manager (and daughter) gets married this weekend and doesn’t get back from her honeymoon till after Thanksgiving. And I decided I just couldn’t open without her. So we are going to open DECEMBER 1st!!!!!

Wow….We actually started moving into the space TODAY!

Life has been on OVERDRIVE for sometime around here and today, we actually unpacked all our dishes and most of the to-go packaging and put it all away. Talk about a mountain top experience! And then my e-devotional for tomorrow arrived in my inbox a moment ago and the topic and scripture is our whole reason for doing what we are doing at COMFORT FOOD! Blow me away…

2 Corinthians 1

The Lord comforts us in our affliction so we may comfort others.

INSIGHT
There is a fellowship of suffering. Someone who has suffered the same things we have suffered is better able to minister to us. And if we have been comforted in our suffering, we are better able to comfort someone else who experiences the same difficulties. Suffering can make us compassionate toward others. As the sufferings of Christ overflow into our lives, so can the compassion of Christ overflow from our lives into the lives of others.

This is our goal and aim for bringing COMFORT FOOD into existence….to provide a means for the overflow of God’s love and comfort into the lives of the hurting. I CAN’T WAIT!

OCTOBER 1st

I can’t believe a year and five months has gone by since the idea popped into my brain about starting a cafe/ministry project!!! In another week or so the cafe will be DONE!!! And pending inspection, we’ll be OPENING a week or so after THAT! WOW…how exciting is THAT!?!
